LIFE TRANSITIONS THERAPY
Life transitions are a universal experience. Whether you are changing careers, becoming a parent, retiring, moving from young adulthood into middle age, or shifting into older adulthood, these moments can bring surprising challenges. It can feel as if the compass you once trusted no longer points north, or as if you are holding a map that no longer matches the terrain you are walking.

These passages often stir both fear and possibility. They may feel isolating, bring waves of anxiety or depression, or spark a sense of existential crisis. Joseph Campbell described this as “the dark night of the soul,” a time when the familiar falls away and we are asked to move through uncertainty without knowing what will come next. The dark night can be a place of great transformation and growth, but it can also feel like stagnation, panic, or grasping for what once was.
Therapy can provide a steady place to pause, breathe, and orient. Together we can work to integrate these experiences, to harvest wisdom and growth, and to reinforce a sense of well-being, empowerment, and an integrated sense of self.

What we can explore together
-
Career and identity changes. Facing shifts in work, purpose, and the meaning you draw from your daily life.

Relationship changes. Endings, beginnings, redefinitions, and all the emotions they bring.
-
Parenting and family roles. Entering or leaving caregiving seasons, navigating the shifts in identity that follow.
-
Health and aging. Living with chronic illness, adjusting to physical changes, and meeting the emotions that arise with aging.
-
Existential questions. Exploring purpose, meaning, and the big questions that often surface in times of change.

My approach
We start with listening to what matters most to you. I do not bring a single formula for what a transition should look like. Instead, I offer support that reflects your values and beliefs. We may explore your story, learn body based practices to steady fear or anxiety, and work with the images or metaphors that help you make sense of change.

Life transitions can also stir grief and other forms of loss. You can read more about my grief counseling approach, or visit my services page for a fuller picture of how I work.

I offer care that is inclusive and affirming for queer and 2SLGBTQIA communities and for people in polyamory and ethical non monogamy. I work with individuals only through secure telehealth across Oregon.
